Watch John Green’s TEDxtalk “Paper Towns” Link to the video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgDGlcxYrhQ&list=PL33r-HcIXQm9xYx84AjlI7VB0EAVVY7jh&index=242

When watching the video, please take notes in preparation to respond to the following questions. Post your response to the questions by clicking “Reply” to post your response to this discussion thread. While there is no word limit on your post, you should treat discussion posts as formal pieces of writing where you use respectful language and present complete, organized sentences /paragraphs to showcase your thoughts effectively. Your response needs to be specific and non-general and supported with textual evidence (from the talk, in this case) and aims to convince your peers and me of your critical perspectives. As long as your response satisfies the aforementioned requirement, you will earn the full points of 5% (=5 points). Failing to do so will result in point deduction.

Here are the questions for you to respond to:

1) What is your major takeaway from Green’s talk? What are some ideas or examples in the talk that you find interesting, curious, useful, or confusing? Please elaborate on your answer by providing your own personal, specific examples as you reflect on the ideas in the talk you consider worth mentioning.

2) In “Paper Towns,” John Green states that “the world is changed by our maps of the world” and “what we map changes the life we lead” when he refers to his learning experiences. What’s your understanding of the two quotes? How would you apply them to your own past and future passages of learning as you transition from a high school to collegial student? Can you give an example on your past learning (of anything in or outside school) that can further illustrate the meaning of the quotes?
