Skill Building assignment
Question Description
When you set out to build a research project, one of the key skills to master is determining what kinds of sources you are engaging and for what purpose. This quick assignment is designed so that you will be able to refresh this skill.
First, watch this short animation video on the distinction between primary and secondary sources.
Second, re-read “Madam President” (Daniels 2020) and take notes on what kinds of sources the author uses, in what context does the author use those sources, and, finally, whether those sources are primary or secondary. (Reading is attached)
Third, write a paragraph (350-500 words) identifying at least ONE primary source and ONE secondary source used by Daniels to support her argument. Also make sure to answer the following question: how does Daniels’s piece operate as both a primary and secondary source?
You can either use a word processor (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, etc.), save as a PDF and upload the assignment OR you can simply choose to “write submission” directly into the Blackboard assignment.
