The social determinants of health and equity are related because equity means to give people what they need to reach their best health, while the determinants of health are the access and utilization of resources that influence a populations health outcomes. Equity is the goal of the social determinants of health, and can only be achieved if action is taken among things like education, social discrimination, transportation, and much more.

2. The main concepts that public health strives for is to provide equity and equality among populations. When addressing a health disparity, it needs to be taken care of from a variety of different angles, which is why it is so important for interventions to be multisectoral and community-driven. Taking a multisectoral approach allows public health to obtain different insight between different groups. Having this approach involves different people, different organizations, and overall various resources in order to achieve the goal of producing better health outcomes. Being community-driven is just as equally important for interventions, and shares similar qualities with being multisectoral. It ensures that a population is being listened to and changes are being made in order to limit or rid the disparities present. Both of these concepts are clearly an important part of reducing disparities in health care and ensuring the equity and equality of people.
