Choose an archaeological myth or hoax in a specific piece of popular culture (including but not limited to movies, TV, video games, novels, and cartoons).

Write a critical essay that addresses the question: how does this piece of pop culture misrepresent the past? Support your argument with at least three points.

Your thesis, then, should read something like: “The Flintstones misrepresents prehistoric life by depicting people living at the same time as dinosaurs …”

You must consult three ACADEMIC SOURCES in your paper. These must be peer-reviewed publications. If you’re unclear on what that means, sign up for the RAP program in the library!

Papers are to be:

-Five pages in length

-Double-spaced in 12 point Times New Roman font (or similar)

-Formatted with one-inch margins on all sides

-Researched using three academic sources

-EDITED AND SPELLCHECKED CAREFULLY!

Include a bibliography in MLA format. The bibliography should include your three academic sources, the piece of pop culture (movie, TV show, video game), and any other sources you consulted (such as websites).
