Innovative Case Assignment Materials

1. What are the benefits to the organization for being an “employee-friendly” company?
2. Why isn’t there more diversity among engineers at tech companies?
3. In your view, should companies set targets for levels of diversity? What value, if any, does adding diversity to the workforce have?
4. Put yourself in Rachel’s shoes as of the end of the Yelp case. What strategies should she propose in order to increase the diversity of the workforce?

Part Two: Applying concepts to Self & Organization:

In preparation for your Critical Assignment examine how you can leverage Human Capital & Diversity at your own Organization:

1. Human Capital Assessment: Assess the effectiveness of your organization’s Human Capital strategy. What are some strengths of the organization’s human capital? How does the organization’s Human Capital strategy compare with the competition? What are at least 3 recommendations for enhancing human capital relations within your organization.
2. Assess the level of diversity and inclusion current in your organization. Identify one diversity & inclusion initiative that you would propose to strengthen the organization. Explain why it is needed and what would be the benefits to the organization and to Human Capital.
3. Detail a change plan to implement this diversity initiative. Identify a specific change theory model, discuss why this model was selected over others. Detail specifically how you would apply each step of the model to effectively implement your change initiative.

This assignment can be completed in question and answer form, so long as assertions are supported and cited per APA format. Remember that Part Two of this assignment is designed to help you formulate and make progress on your Capstone Project. The Capstone Project Paper will have to be in essay form. The more thorough you are in your work on this assignment the stronger your drafts and final project will be.
