The paper should show that the higher the number of intermodal transports being used to transport hazmat, correlates with a higher number of hazardous incidents. Using more modes of transportation can increase the chances of an incident or mishap. The goal is to understand that you can reduce the risks of a hazmat incident by limiting the modes of transportation used.
