Abortion is one of the mostdifficult and controversial moral issues we will consider. Listen toboth sides, even if it is difficult to do. Both sides have importantmoral insights, even if ultimately these insights are outweighed by theinsights of the other side. The goal of this discussion is not toconvince you to accept one position over the other, but to help you tounderstand both sides. As you consider this difficult issue, it isimportant to distinguish two questions:

- Should abortion be illegal?
