The organizational climate at my current place of employment is reflective of an integrated purpose. The integrated purpose of an organization is when the people of an organization come together as a whole or team to accomplish the mission and visions of an organization. This is very evident within my current organization as there are multiple teams within the organization that are formed to improve operational functions within our organization. For example, there is a diversity and inclusion group, which consist of workers within the organization. My current organization also focus on the advancement of individuals through its in-house educational programs. As an employee, we have access to hundreds of free educational courses that can also be used towards licensure credits hours and employees are promoted from within first (in house promotions). My job equips their employees with the skills and education they need to succeed and climb the ladder. My organization is very big on respect for all members. Some of the ways they enforce respect of others are by asking that all personal phone calls be taken away from the work area, sprays or other aerosol cans are sprayed in or around the work area, noise levels are kept to the bare minimal, et al.

How did you feel?

I feel this organizational climate is a conducive work environment. The people on my team all have to meet production and daily goals with minimal errors. We have high standards of performance. Our work ethics and production determines whether or not there will be organizational raises. Just this past month due to organizational productivity, everyone was given a salary increase. As a whole, we are rewarded for our hard work and dedication. There is also someone available at all times for assistance and there is an open door policy. According to Bibi, et al. organizational climate and authentic leadership both are crucial for developing team innovation skills in employees (Bibi, Zafar, & Kausar, 2018).

How do you think this climate affected turnover?

Since I have been employed here, there has not been any turnover on my team or my sister team. There are even a few employees who have worked there since the beginning. In my opinion, this is due to the fact that the climate of the organization consists of an award system in which we get raises and three mandatory weeks/year vacation. I also contribute our low turnover rate to the fact that first-line supervisors are very helpful and understanding. They give you space to complete your work and if assistance is needed they are available, the staff is very warm and supportive. According to Manning & Curtis, an organization must contain the following dimensions in order to have a successful organizational climate: reward system, organizational clarity, standards of performance, warmth, and support, and leadership practices (Manning & Curtis, 2018).
